The Boatyard at Reedham
We are a family business that has the passion, expertise and desire to keep your boat in top condition. Andy Bale runs the yard and has some twenty years experience in boat restoration and repair. Having been a senior craftsman at Brooms in Brundall for ten years, and with previous experience of marine diesels and yachts, he can advise on any aspect of both motor yachts and more traditional broads sailing vessels either in wood or GRP. We can call on a team of specialist tradesmen for electrical, hydraulic or instrumentation systems.
The yard is situated at the end of Holly Farm Road at Reedham, where the new cut from St Olaves joins the River Yare. We are around an hour's sailing time from both the sea at Great Yarmouth and Oulton broad at Lowestoft.
Boatyard services
We regularly undertake marine insurance estimates, and can do any type of maintenance & repair including:
- paint / varnish work
- bow thruster repair / replacement
- underwater servicing (seacocks etc.)
- GRP / wood repairs
- osmosis work.
We also do in-depth work such as: new engine / generator rebuilds and installation, replacment of water system pipework, checking / replacing worn rudder bearings, inspecting keel bolts, replacing old engine beds, changing cutlass bearings etc.
Moorings on the river Yare
Our berths are on a refurbished quay-heading adjacent to the river, with shore facilities, water, electricity and road access. We have a 12 ton lift-out capacity with room for both on-shore and covered storage in two sheds.
There are on shore toilet facilites at the yard. In Reedham there are two pubs and a shop that opens 7 days a week. There is also a Post Office and Cafe.
All the boats in our care are inspected externally on a weekly basis. We currently have one space left in covered storage and also some mooring space. For more details see our pricing page, and please contact us for detailed availabilty.
